Video Killed the Radio Star

Madas David is an artist and photographer. This is a film photography series, scanned and developed by the artist-portraying obsolete mediums and their death and visually, the social impact of ultra-modernization and the industrialization of the being. He filmed the scenes on a Sony VHS camera which was then connected to the old TVs you see portrayed in the photographs. As inspiration for this series, they looked at Videodrome and to a lesser extent to the French New Wave films such as Breathless, which dig quite deep into this theme of losing the soul of a being in an era of modernization. Thus, the two themes of the photographs – the death of the medium and the abstract death of the soul complement each other directly.
