Riding Hood’s Heart Chakra
Ashley Bunton is a poet, artist, photographer and journalist based in Moab, Utah. She studied poetry and visual art at Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio, where she began exploring counter-narratives to the Little Red Riding Hood fairytale. In hopes of deconstructing the stereotypes women face when they are portrayed in media, she retells the story through art and poetry to center on the grit and resilience in the hearts of women who are the creators of their own lives alongside nature and its beautiful natural elements. Her work has appeared in zines, anthologies, newspapers, radio and magazines.
